Pedro
Myself and 5 others are off to Le Mans at the weekend on our bikes to go and watch the the Moto GP. Thoroughly looking forward to it, but was wondering if amongst the wealth of knowledge on here, if someone might know the best place on the circuit to watch a race? P. PS I have to say, new tyres on the Blade beats bunny bashing at the mo :yp:

Dunkield
Ahhhhh it's changed since my my young lad . . . I used to go and watch the cars when the Jags were doing their thing (the TWR's not the D Types, before anyone says anything ) Back then, before they put the chicane in half way down, the end of the Mulsanne straight was the place to get some fantastic views, right into the car with the drivers coming down from well over 200mph for about 3 miles. Not sure if the cafe is still there half way down the straight, that was an eye opener as well as the shock waves used go straight across the room as each car went past, if it still there, go and have a look. I am sure someone has been more recently than that, so they should be able to help, you WILL have a good time though that is for sure, load of nutters gather for these weekends... MC
I went to Le Mans in 1996, There is a cafe and chinese restaraunt about a 1/4 of the way down the mulsanne straight. The corner which exits on to the straight is a good place as there is a large grass bank. There is not much to see after the mulsanne straight until the cars/bikes emerge back in to the complex before the pits. The pit straight and curves under the dunlop bridge is a good spot as well. The museum is worth a visit as well. The fun fair they had was good as well, the shooting range used pump action shotguns loaded with plastic BB's and you shot at old crockery. I won't mention the strippers. OOPS i just did Have fun Cheers Martin
