foggy11
Hi. If you measure the outside diameter of the threaded area that, will give you the size. Then measure between the peeks of the thread, will tell you the pitch. ie.... 14 x 1 mm..... Cheers. Nik...

Mr_Logic
If it's a Remington and it was cut from new, it'll be 1/2 UNF. Do you have a mod on that Anschutz of yours? That will also be 1/2 UNF (at least mine was) so if the mod fits on your CF too, then QED.

foggy11
I would say that if it measures anywhere near 12 mm then yes it will be 1/2 unf , the next size thread is 14 mm i think....
fruitloop
to do this right you will need a measuring device e.g. micromiter a set of thred gauges metric and imperial and a thred form chart e.g. zuse book as the otheres say measur the od of the thred for metric yes you cam measure the peaks of the thred but with imperial there is loads of diffrent angles in the thred depending on what form it is e.g. bsw bswf unc unf and moor hope this helps http://www.classicmotorcycles.org.uk/technical/technical_thread_size_chart.htm http://mdmetric.com/thddata.htm Edited October 20, 2011 by fruitloop
