garden gun
There are loads of threads on here with a "What gun?" topic. Read the "back numbers" and you will soon get the idea of what process to follow. Budget; spinger of PCP, single/multi shot - get the idea? one shot drop
Yeah ok will do i want a pcp maby the bas r-10 someone said about the air arms s400 but i never seen it don't know anything about it
theoben fenman
the s200's highly reviewed. I was going to buy one but was put off by the charging cost of pcps. really depends on how much youve got for it and the equipment and wether you want it to be repeating. Airgun world reviewed it in the latest mag. But if youve got the money for an R10 your not going to be too worried about buying a gas bottle or pump
MattF
You say you want a .177 I take it its for target shooting first of all what discipline are you going to be shooting FT or HFT depends on the rifle and scope set up plus it wants to be a single shot not unless you buy a single shot adaptor for a multi shot rifle. Look at the AA400 and AA200 both very good rifles the 400 has a better trigger if you want info on target shooting look on Shooting the breeze. bullet boy
Well IMO the best value for money rifle which oozes quality is the Air Arms S410!I cannot recommend this rifle enough! Also if money is not an issue I'd advise you to look at the Theoben Rapid. The Rapid does hold more shots per charge than the S410 but both rifles I have mentioned are superb PCP rifles! one shot drop
no im not saying money aint a ishue ill have to save for a while to get the r-10 but i think im just dreaming the air arms sounds like the one ill defo have a look at the s410 ive already got a air tank for my excalibur. im after the .177 for target shooting ill be doing the hft courses hopfully doing the competitions they sound a good bash from what the lads at the club have been telling me. thanks for all you replys
theoben fenman
in which case the s200 sounds good for you as (as far as i know) you dont need a repeating rifle and the s200s accuracy is proven. Whoever it was quoting my post i dont know what you meant by it but i detect a hint of sarcasm. Im just suggesting airgunworlds review maybe worth a look. The s200 is an entry level pcp with superb accuracy and i think its about 40 shots per charge in.22 god knows in .177. Definetly worth a look but then again so is the whole of the air arms range
one shot drop
Yeah ill deformed check out all the air arms range they sound a good quality rifle thanks
MattF
Caution HFT is very addictive but don't bother with the 410 just go for the 400 you will have to remove the magazine between lanes plus you have only have one shot per target also you can pick a 400 up a lot cheaper
one shot drop
How much should i be paying for the 400 secondhand or new been advised by about 6 or 7 people about the
nobby
Go and have a look I had the same dilema a couple of weeks a go either aas410 or bsa r10. Got the r10 and am really happy with it
MattF
How much should i be paying for the 400 secondhand or new been advised by about 6 or 7 people about the 400 You can pick a carbine up for around £250 to £300 and a bit more for a classic go for a second hand one without A/T if you can find one as you can then adjust the pressure. Doing HFT your using the power at the optimal for the pellet eg 8.44 pellet around 775 fps and a 7.90 pellet around 810 fps which is just over 11flb pressure Edited October 26, 2011 by MattF

Paul101
If you go for the AA400 you might need the "Classic " model for getting a good 60 shots in a good consistant power curve without having to refill.
