Fishermanpaddy
I have decided to build a stock for me 452 from an unworked blank of walnut. Im just wondering if any of you have attempted this with your guns and if so if you have any tips (apart from dont do it) . I have a block of pine that im planning on hacking to bits before I start on the good stuff just to make sure of all the inletting for the action will be up2 scratch and also to be sure of the dimensions I want. Cheers fellers
utectok
I know a guy who did this but he got the action fit cut by the manufactures and stuck to the moddeling. He liked it I thought it looked ghastly but each to his own! Good luck should be fun I'm pretty sure the action fit is mucho important and if it were me id get my stock measurements from a try gun first so it fitted
Dekers
I'd love to do it some day just as an exercise, but I don't have the design flair, skill or tools. I do know a guy in a woodwork shop who makes the most incredible architectural woodwork and seems to be able to turn his hand the anything, so maybe one day...with a bit of help! gamekeeper1960
Hi fishermanpaddy I made for a QB79 and the only thing I will say is the old adage goes measure twice cut once.the more you plan the easier it will be. So good luck and do have a go its well worth it.Cheers Dave.
