il cacciatore
Was just wondering if anyone uses a rifle for hunting with iron sights any more?
flash
i voted scope but it all depends on what it is going to be used for, wether it is for big game with a double barreled rifle, on the move boar or deer, or stationary rabbits etc. cheers flash
Hunter
The farmer down the road from me uses hollow scope mounts, so he can use either on his rimmie. Shoots bolting rabbits with the irons, and uses the scope for stationary moving bunnies. Good shot with it too..
Frank
The only time i used iron sights was when i had a air rifle, way back in 84,85,86. It was a BSA Mercury S and i killed many a pigeon, crow and bunny with it. Now a days though, i use a scope and would not be without one, so have voted scope. Cant beet it for accurate humane shooting. :yp:

leeboy
As a nipper I used open sights all the time cos I couldn't afford a scope. Now I can afford the option I use a scope 99% of the time but really enjoy close up rats with irons. Leeboy
