aister
i might have done wrong, (we will soon find out) but all i did after buying my cz 17hmr was clean the barrel to get any factory greese/oil out of the barrel and started shooting. i wasn't told by my RFD to run it in as he did with my 30-06 and my 223. Dekers
Just asking what the procedure is for running in a new .17hmr?Not sure if its same as fullbore or no need.Cheers. The HMR ammo is all copper coated and relatively quick. MY VIEW... run in the barrel like a centrefire. Others will say they have never run a barrel in ever! I take a very simple view, it isn't going to do any harm, and may just do some good. ALL my rifle shoot better than me .............. and I take care of them all, especially from new! Jackroadkill
I put about 50 rds through mine and it goes like clockwork now. I run a boresnake through it after shooting but I don't use any solvents or anything in the barrel.
