You can get a non-WRX / STI Impreza. (GX model or something?)These come without the bonnet bulge, and with a more discreet spoiler. You can also get an estate version. I think the GX model doesn't have a turbo (not positive on that) but it's still a quick car and cheaper to buy and insure than the rally versions...

Mungler - please don't buy an Impreza, it would ruin the image of you I have in my head. They are not for the likes of you, more for the scallys you represent. What about an Audi RS6? Subaru performance in a more gentlemanly package. And you can use them to transport dodgy packages around Europe like Jason "I am NOT the Gay" Statham.

The whole 3 or 4p on a litre of fuel means I'm now looking at turbo diesels

Weirdly I am drawn to the Citoen C6; a quirky geography teacher type car that has every option known to mankind and are f-all second hand which greatly appeals to the thrifty in me. It's just not that exciting.

If your after an estate car look at the merc C32 AMG estate. 3.2 v6 supercharged. 354 hp 0/60 in 5s. Magnetic supercharger so decent economy when taking it easy and deristricted does 176 mph standard. Full of toys and low mIlage if spending 8/10k. If reference to the jag xjs v12. Stay well clear. I used to work in garage and we had a regular with one.first car I ever fell in love with. Fantasic looks and performance but so poorly made. Parts dear and hard to get. Cheap electrical components used and rubber seals that last less time than your average journey. If I Won the lottery though I would defiantly get one

It's economy is decent for a car of that performance. Thought it was obvious as explained the super charger Is only active under harsh acceleration therefore giving better mpg than alot of other performance cars while being driven normally that have been listed in this thread
