Clydebuilt
Had friends use Alex Dalgleish in Eaglesham and Continental Shooting In Dalry - North Ayrshire without any problemsand satisfactory results. I would personally stick to a tried and trusted gun shop and gunsmith's, the last time I was in Glasgow Field Sports there seemed a distinct lack of knowledge base from the guys serving, albeit they were friendly etc, but didn't have a great deal of experience with Firearms and the likes. Things may have chanegd but IIRC they never used to offer screw cutting. Do they farm it out or is there an in house engineer/gunsmith/machinist within the GAC/GFS shop? Would be worth finding out. Got to agree with you Wullie, always helpful and well priced and any work they have done has been great. Thoroughly recommend Continental

WGD
And another vote for Continental Shooting Supplies, North Ayrshire Shooting Ground, Dalry. Talk to Jim Young there, for machine work he is probably the best in the area.

F knows what would have happened if it had been a novice buing them' I seem to remember that the field sports had recently moved in with angling centre and likely the staff with cover both without the necessary knowledge. Emailed GFS about this and they replied, We can and do get rifles threaded,we use a trade gunsmith for this service and it costs £60 for threading and £10 to ream out a rear bushing if required. vulpicide
You will probably find they use Alex I have had acouple of adverse encounters with the GFS outfit I dont use them I'd only ran young oneshot up to buy a reel for his old man they said they only only had the display model so he asked for a discount as it was a demo and they said no but when he went to walk out they found one. I had only asked about the shells to compare prices
