cocker3
well i had a couple of hour to spare this morning to took the lad and the dogs down to the shoot for a we walk about .first we started at the main wood its not a big wood but does hold a few birds .i got my lad to stand and i walked the wood out with a few birds showing but not offering any good shots . so we headed for a couple of good hedges where there are always birds first to flush was a nice hen which the lad dropped with the first shot then a covey of greys 20 strong which we left .onto the next hedge three cockes pheasants added to the bag 2 for me 1 to the lad .then we moved onto a couple of ditches the first had another covey in it( now we dont normaly shoot grey partridge but we must have seen 60 plus buy now so we gave our selves 5 birds if they were good sporting birds and no more )so the lad dropped a nice crosser and then i shot one climbing back over our heads .50 yards on the lad spotted a fox slipping out of the ditch which we never got a shot at but he will get his come upins too night onto the last ditch and i was in again with another cock flushing to my left witch was dropped 40 yards out then the lad got a left and right on cock pheasants once we had picked them we moved on and the dogs put up another 20 plus partridge and i dropped one out of them as we neared the end of the ditch the dogs were getting into that i know there is somthing here mode and sure enough 10 yrads further on up rose anther cock pheasant and it went vertical and the lad dropped it with the first shot . on the way back to the farm we had a few pigeons crossing the hedge in front of us so i bagged one of them and that was the last shot of the morning . what a great morning out with my lad not a big bag but great fun atb andy

Frenchieboy
That looks a reasonable bag for a couple of hours mate, I would certainly be proud of a mixed bag like that! Even if it hadn't have been a descent bag surely the important thing is being out there and enjoying the day! Well done!
