pstenson123
After cleaning my 17 hmr for about an hour , zoroed it in with 6 rounds then went lamping later that evening, after 4 out of 4 hesd shot kills on rabbits the furthest was 97 yards the 5th shot i thought i missed so reloaded and bent the tip of the next round,i put the lamp on the gun to check the breech and there was a bullet stuck there about 2" down it. I just wondered if any other pw members have had this problem or was it a light round, the rifle is religeously cleaned after about 25/30 rounds.Any amswers and advise greatly appreciated. duttonv8
I had the same thing happen when i first got the hmr, about a year ago, trouble was it was only the second shot with a brand new rifle so i was bricking it that the rifle was duff! That was the ammo and it was returned to the dealer. I had a quite sounding shot, and the ejected case was full of unburnt powder, after which i checked down the barrel and could see the bullet head. Lucky i didnt chamber another round, if it had been my first shot i may have just thought that the noise level of the hmr was over exagerated and chambered another round! Not had an issue since. Gimlet
Can we keep a tally of which brands this happens with? 2 Remmingtons on this thread and if memory serves Federal have come up on earlier ones. Batch numbers too would be good.

Shropshire_Lad
Once only in a lot of rounds, it was a remington. now use Winchester but Remington were great shooters. Winchester just as good so far but a lot to go yet.

apache
Cheers fella's thought i had'nt cleaned it properly You don't need to clean them. All I do is clean the moderator every few hundred rounds. I've had ~1500 rounds through my CZ and never cleaned it, never adjusted the scope and it still shoots bang on.
