Looking after a friends Shotguns

Hi All,

I have been asked by a friend to look after his shotguns whilst an issue is resolved as he has been advised to remove the guns from the house temporarily and was wondering what the process is?

I have enough space in my cabinet and obviously hold an SGC, not sure how long they will be with me for but definitely longer than 72 hours.

Do these need adding to my cert? What needs to be entered onto it? I'm also assuming that i need to inform the Firearms Licensing Dept that I have them?

Cheers,

Jon.

Yes If its for a reasonably long period.. ie several weeks you will both need to fill in a transfer form and send to the relevent FA licencing dept. Ive always put them down as loans in the past and sent an explanatory letter with it and also when transfering back. For shorter durations ive only ever sent a letter of explanation.

Just covers you both in the event of a mishap.
