Ranger or L200?

I am now up for a change and was wondering what the opinions are to the above?

I have to admit I am a mitsubishi man, so was going to stick with another l200 but the new shape this time. However, I have been looking at the Ford Ranger Thunders and have found these to be more of a drive.

Any comments on how well the Ranger can get about or known faults would be helpful. Any info on the new nmodel L200's would also be appreciated.

Anyone tried the new VW truck yet?

Nope, but saw one in person and looks very good

If it's as capable as the Toureg they're onto a winner, although I did see one with the door caved in driving round preston……must be real expensive for repairs on those

Might attempt to test drive the one at the local garage

Yeh I saw one the other day and though that for a pickup it was a very good looking truck - better than anything else available at the minute. Apart from maybe the Navara.

:good:

Tempted to go "test piloting" too :yp:

Navara's aren't that great though, they seem to have some engine problems due to being underpowered when fully loaded or something like that

I'd get a Hilux Invincible if I could afford one, 3.0L TDI and its a Hilux so rock solid

Testing cars is fun :D I got bored a couple of years back and went on a little spree with a mate testing all the fast cars we were allowed in due to insurance age stuff……Focus Titanium S was fun :good:

Yeah there's a reason why young people are kept away from kit like that though. More experince really is needed in that sort of car.

I clearly remember a day when I was in my late teens I was working for a guy who had a TVR. Absolutely stunning car it was, well we got chatting and he said I could take it for a "spin" around the block. Little did I know, he had a plan. He told me to take it steady up the first 200 yards of road, keep in second gear around the 90 degree corner at the end by the farmyard and then when I was half way around the corner, floor it and hold on. Apparently it would give me an adrenaline rush like nothing else....

Well it turns out I had no idea. I had a 1.1 fiesta and all sounded reasonable, this would just be a lot quicker right? Wrong! I hit the bend, floored it as he told me and spun around sideways I think twice but maybe three times into the farm yard. It was all so fast I really can't remember it that clearly!

Turns out he knew the farmer was out that day, the yard had a wide open front and he was in his bedroom watching me through his bino's having a right giggle!

I drove it back to the house slower than I've ever driven before, shaking like a leaf thinking he'd go mad. I got back and he was stood on the drive laughing - *******!

I had a customer that went from a Hilux to the new VW he has had the vehicle 3 months and its been in the workshop for 4 weeks with gearbox issues wont select second and somtimes struggles with 1st, he wishes he never bought the thing!!!

especially as he has now seen the new 2012 Hilux

also he had issues with getting the VAT back on it as it was not classified as a commercial because of the payload limit, VW dropped a huge one there!!!:lol::lol:
