It's only worth buying a rangefinder if you have a gun that is capable of extended range accuracy where the exaggerated trajectory curve demands pinpoint rangefinding. There is a reason why all the field target disciplines, who aren't allowed to use rangefinders, use expensive scopes to rangefind with instead. knowing the precise distance to your target will increase the chance of hitting it greatly and allow you to shoot further than you otherwise would have. chrisjpainter Posted May 11, 2012 Report Share Posted May 11, 2012 I always try to take an airgun, though on one occasion i had everything bar my rifle :blink: I'm so glad I'm not the only one whose done this and that there's another balloon headed spanner that's done this! epic fail. My leatherman is a permanent fixture and a pair of bins and a bird book now comes too.
