woodcock1
Take a back seat and dont do anything unless your asked. Stay in line. My shoot manager always ends my instructions with 'and for gods sake dont **** it up!' Relax and enjoy.

sodylt1
There will be a breifing, usually by the keeper or one of his assistants, depending on the size of the shoot? Just listen & follow the instructions and if you are taking a dog be confident that he / she is rock solid and under control, usually you will find a freindly bunch and they will know that you are new & someone will take you under their wing. We are shooting tomorrow and will be doing the same with our team so Main thing is relax, enjoy and have a great day! ......
AdamHall
apart from the usual good comfertable foot wear and water proofs just make sure you keep an eye on the people either side of you and make sure your in line with every one else and id highly recomened takeing a big bag of sweets and a hip flask with something different in it not the usual whiskey and you wont go far wrong
Kes
Take a stick, leggins and your bait, find out whether they beat noisily or just tap and do what they do. Make sure all your gear fastens properly otherwise a large part of it will be left on bushes. Hope you have a great day !!!
chris t
choose carefully how much clothing you put on as on a warmish day you can get hot and end up carrying your coat, which can be a real pain.
Stratts
How did it go mate I'm hoping to go this season for the 1st time but can only do Saturdays so it's a bit limited
oscarsdad
Absolutely loved it! Came home full of thorns, a rip in the back of my Barbour, a bit tired but with a few pheasant so very pleased. Really good bunch and a thoroughly enjoyable day. I will be going again to the next shoot and taking my terrier with me as well as he will love it. I would definitley recommend giving it a go. oscarsdad
It was a small syndicate shoot and pretty informal, there were a good bunch of dogs in the beating line along with springers there were a few lurchers, a terrier and even a staffy cross Rottweiler! I didn't take the terrier as I was unsure he would fit in, but he will and let's say he will be no worse behaved than some of the dogs lol! I am not going to take the cocker for a good while yet, as he was born in October means he will will not be going until the 2013 season I would think. I did mention I was getting a cocker and the only responses I got were questioning my sanity for such a decision!
