lxtav
My 4 year old got a xmas present that has a plastic clamp to fit it to a table and i had it set up attached to the tv unit. I am now in the dog house as it has left dent in the wood. I know there is a way of getting dents out with an iron an steam but how do you go about it. Need to try and get into the good books again with the wife again.
FalconFN
It will only work if the wood fibres are not damaged, but with small dents you just need to put a damp tea towel over the area and iron over it. Best to see if the steam damages the woods finish first by trying it on a inconspicuous area. Good luck.
deny essex
Damp cloth over the dent and hot iron the cloth, dont over do it, over heat or let the cloth dry out and keep checking every few seconds, depending if it has fractured the grain or very deep you may not get it all out but with care can make it look a little better at least, if you can lightly sand down for a final finish . Pheasant Feeder
If its a small dent just use a hot knife with a damp cloth instead of the iron as it gives you more control and precission, might need to do it in several attempts just to be on the safe side. BRYAN3
***** the afected area with a needle to allow the steam to get to the wood fibres. The finish on the wood is there to prevent penetration. Waxing will hide the pin holes. Good luck.
