alexf
What a fantastic transformation some work gone in to that Good on you. My father in law has just recently given his up due to work but when he was away I watered and weeded it. he stuck to the usual suspects potatoes, toms, onions. His fruit used to do really well raspberries and gooseberries. Roll on summer!
jimbo1
just got my tenancy on mine this week. i managed to bag a plot that had already been worked by an old boy in his 90`s.....so i didnt have to much to do to get it cleared. ill be down there tomorrow putting in some onion sets and finish off some digging over and weeding at the bottom end of the plot....then im ready to go crazy with the planting. just as a bit of a side note and a question for the experienced.....is it still to early to sow carrot seeds outside?? FalconFN
I'm doing the usual onions, potatoes (anya and kestrel), runner/yellow/French beans, butternuts, carrots and tomatoes but this year I'm doing more salads and pak choi etc as they are expensive to buy but dead easy to grow. Also want to try the tomatoes directly into the veg plot rather than in bags to see the difference.

RedRobin
Hi Holly Just joined PW , so reading throuugh lots of interesting Topics on here........ You've really put some serious back-braking work into the plot. The last few years i normally do potatoes ( Pentand Crown or Javelin ), Runner Beans ,Courgettes ,Butternut Squash, Brussells ,Sprouting Brocoli ,Leeks , couple of varieties of Rhubarb. In the greenhouse normally few varieties of Toms, Cucumbers ,Peppers ,Chillis . I also put up quite a few Hanging baskets with trailing cherry toms in. They never really make it back to the kitchen though Had an issue with Potatoe blight last year , so giving the spuds a rest this year. Any update pics ?
