Mr Potter
Hi all, could some kind soul give me the directions to RIXTON CPC at Astley please. It's just off the East Lancs Road (A580) but can only be accessed from the Westbound carriageway (you can't cross the central reservation if heading towards Manchester) If you are using a Sat Nav the nearest Post Code is M29 7EW and the Lat & Long for the cabin is N53.4853 & W-2.4704. No Sat Nav then the left turn into Morley Lane is just over the bridge over the Leeds/Liverpool canal about mid way between the traffic light junction for Astley & Astley Green and the Greyhound roundabout (junction with A574). Turn left off East Lancs onto Morley Lane (also entrance to a quarry and keep left, approx 150 yards right turn into farmyard (duck pond on right) through farmyard and along track for about 300 yards and you are at the cabin. For details & opening times see website http://rixtoncpc.co.uk/ Potter

Gordon R
Just be a bit careful. Last time I was there, I was stood at the door of the cabin - to book on, and a clay came straight through the window at the side - glass everywhere. Rishton is worth the extra mileage. southrop
Agreed, Rishton is a great little ground, pity they've dropped the sportrap though.
Acid House
How did it go. Did you get there. Rixton ain't bad. I suppose it's what you make of it. For a straw bailer it's a bit samey and no big towers etc but hay you should be able to clear it then........ It has something of a game fair feel to me for some reason and I like the small club atmosphere and frienlyness. I turned up late one time with the wife and although the last gun had left and they were about to decamp they allowed us to go in front of the chaps about to pack up and shoot a quick round. Nice people. I suppose some people will find fault with it but hey ho.
