gibby
Had a bit of good news, my services have been asked for to get rid of the pigeons eating the seed on a private sports ground. Am allowed to use the shotty and rimmy. But problem is they all seem to pool in the middle of the pitches. How can i go about controlling them? will a hide in the middle of the pitch provide good shooting or is it best to sit with the rimmy? Any one shoot on same sort of land? if so how do you go about it? Cheers Gibby

Cranfield
Assuming there is some sort of cover round the edge of the field (hedges, trees etc) that would be the best place to put a hide. You will have to check whats the other side of the "cover", to make sure your presence is OK. If you decoy out from the edge, there is every chance you will bring the pigeons to you. Its difficult to be too specific, without knowing the whole layout of the area.
Stealth Stalker
Try getting the groundsman to leave a cricket screen or one of those huge hose reels near to where the birds want to be, something they see everyday that dosen't seem to bother them. Set up your hide around that and you should be able to get right in amongst them SS
P03
If you put up a hide in the middle of the field it will need a roof or you will have to sit really still, and it severly restricts your swing with a shotty. It might be an idea to put the hide up and leave it for a day (if you can be sure it won't get nicked), let the pigeons get accustomed to it, then hit 'em hard. P03 PS. The police in Bristol appreciate a call if you are shooting within the city boundaries 'cos they get a lot of calls when people hear gunshots.
