Tomm
hello, looking for a scope for a .22-250 and a .17hmr, seen a nikko sterling nighteater, it has a 30mm tube and a 56mm lense, would this be any good for lamping up to about 200-250 yards? or would it be better for hmr ranges? any help appreciated Tom
steve_b_wales
It's a good scope. Another one worth looking at is the Hawke Endurance 30. It has a 30mm tube, mag'is 3-12x50, IR and is guaranteed for 10 years. Retails for aound £220. I have one in use now, and also has one on my 22-250 for over a year, with excellent results. bullet boy
Hi Tomm, the Nighteater range are good!My mate "Camokid" on here uses a Nighteater 6-24x56 scope on his .223 rifle to great effect on Foxes! It would be fine on your .22-250 and the 56mm objective lens is a good light gatherer therefore making it ideal for Lamping! ATB.
cockercas
56mm objective lenses dosent offer you any more than a 50mm. i use a 45mm on my rifle for fox to 300meters. same for 30mm tubes, you wont notice a difference over 25mm. just letting you know
remy 700
Hi these scopes are very underated and snobbed out , I recently looked through a nikko sterling diamond scope it was 4 14 42 or simular (134 pounds), it was crystal clear , and I am used to leupold vari x 3s , buy as steve b says , you will be suprised at the quality
pat g
Nowt wrong with them mate. Obviously not up there with the quality of the top end makes such as S&B, Swarvo, Zeiss, etc but hey at the end of the day look at the price difference!! It will do the job you ask of it. Does what it says on the tin so to speak. Not everyone has £600 to over £1000 at their disposal for a scope, especially these days . Another option though is to look around for a used Meopta. You might find a one that may fall into your buget if you look around ATB, Pat
