Sounds absolutely brilliant, a sort of "pay & play" Rough Shoot, in fact it all sounds too good to be true. :hmm:

Forgive me for being cynical but I've seen quite a few posts like this over the years, so be careful guys..!

I would be very wary of anybody who claims to be seeking to improve a rough shoot by "clearing woodland and lots of bracken", and as for "getting a government grant for re-locating a public footpath", well, dream on fella.

A classic case of "Caveat Emptor", let the buyer beware.

No problem with being wary at all! I think it’s the right thing to do! Some random forum member posts an elaborate story on a forum that sounds like every shooters dream.

I’m sure there are many people who type up things like this or even try it and fail. Remember I’m not saying ‘this will work’ or give me your credit card details. If people replied and said ‘that sounds like a terrible idea’ there wouldn’t really be any point in going ahead with it.

The redirection of the footpath is only possible due to previous work for the local council for beach access, and it will still have the same beginning and end. If it weren’t for the footpath the place would almost be perfect. But grants for specific things are very real, you can get given a few thousand just to kill gray squirrels (obviously you use that for squirrels and not to build a mini bar).

The woodland needs felling in areas and some paths will hopefully be made as there are some nice clearings within. When the larger of the fields was felled last year, the local rabbit population moved in.

Anyway as I say I will do my best to get more detail as and when. Obviously it’s a long while off
