Vince Green
I used to work with someone who was Cornish and would only describe himself that way. Edited February 14, 2012 by Vince Green
ack-ack
Kent born and bred (not too sure if its Man of Kent or Kentish Man, I always get the criteria wrong - HELP). English 1st, British 2nd, although I have a cocktail of blood from across the British Isles. South of the Medway and you're a Man of Kent. hedd-wyn
I used to work with someone who was Cornish and would only describe himself that way. ENG-lish to him meant Anglo Saxon as in Angle land. And he was serious, he wasn't just playing it for laughs. Funny you should say that, in the Welsh language an Englishman would be referred to as a 'Sais' which translates to 'Saxon'. In fact there is no such translation as 'Englishman' in Welsh, me us old fashioned, but I think Saxon sounds much more impressive.
