Pigeon_snIPer
Hi, Have been looking for a stock for my Diana Mod 25 .22 for a long time with no success, finally i decided to do one on my own. I picked up a walnut blank from a friend all it had was the main groove and just the cut out. After working on it for almost a month - here is the final result after 3 coats of polish, still need to do a little finishing on some rough surfaces, final fitting and accessories need to go on. Apologies on the bad images - taken with my mobile. /S/
demonwolf444
how did you get on with the inletting? what did you use, any special tools ? thanks in advance.
Pigeon_snIPer
The inletting for the cocking arm was done by first marking out a line and then drilling on the line at every CM or so. once the full thing was there a file was used for smoothing it out. Thanks. /S/

stalker2
i have some 2" thick mahogany boards that are over 60 years old i fancy making a stock with one no idea how to start though mahogany was used for a while on antique guns , usualy pistols dont use mahogany because it is too brittle instead buy some american black walnut
johnbaz
Hi I acquired a hw80 the the owner had carved the stock, he had tried to make the stock like one of those Biathalon rifles but he had split the stock and stuck it together with electrical tape This was before the interweb became commonplace, it wasn't easy at the time to buy a replacement stock as it is now so I made one of Birch ply from work.. It's the light coloured gun of these.. I cut the inletting out with a gouge chisel for wood turning!!! Cheers, John
