bri
Hi Has any body used camo tape on their guns, are there any problems with it do they damage the woodwork/blueing etc. I've just bought some realtree stuff that says it must be removed if it gets wet?. cheers
Yorkshire Pudding
Never used the camo tape meself. But i did get the barrels of me gun "dipped" in realtree at a place near York. All i can say is its great as unlike when the blueing gets wet ...the realtree dip is not affected by water , no need to dry off at home...blah blah blah all the best yis yp
The Sniper
Bri, I used some of this stuff on a Remi 1100 shotgun that had a nickel action. I left it on for 3 months and when I took it off the adhesive was a pain to get off the metal. As they say if it gets wet it will store water under it so be very careful leaving it on barrels etc. Actually I moved onto one of those gun socks to solve the problem. Take it off after you use it and no nasty residue ! IMHO if you are thinking of putting this on a pigeon gun, save your money, keep the gun hidden in the hide ( as you should do !) and only raise it above the netting when you are going to fire. Hammergun
Use Isopropyl alcohol or white spirit to remove the sticky residue.
rjimmer
If you are worried about shining barrels, spray them with Abbey Metal Protector. Don't get it on any moving parts. You will need some sort of spirit to remove it when you want to. All this talk of camo on everything and people still wave ungloved hands about while swinging their gun. Gloved hands and a face veil are the first things to think about, even in Moonlight. have a look here. http://www.safariquip.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh0000...ehtml%23a33#a33 Or here. http://www.attacc.com/acatalog/Clothing_j.html

rupertx
I sacrificed an old pair of DPM trousers and then got in touch with my feminine side and had a bash on the wifes sewing machine. Results below.. a nice snug fitting fore end gun sock in DPM which not only camos the gun it also protects it against knocks and scratches.
