-kev-
Out today on the rape with the FUDs all of a sudden a female sparrow hawk comes over the brow of the field am in at no more than a foot off the ground, she flew like that for about 50 meters or so and then landed on one of my FUDS, she tried to fly off with it but couldnt pull it out the ground. I got out of the hide and started to clap my hands to scare her off, she let go and then had a go at the only full bodied decoy i had out there as well before realising it wasnt real and flew off. :yp: Has any one else had this happen to them? Just goes to show that the FUDS do work even if its only on sparow hawks

humperdingle
Had similar with FUD decoys... haven't had a hawk try to capture one, but some very close (couple of metres off the ground) fly-bys.
stu nesling
had a few sparrow hawks land in the pattern and eye the decoys. and a buzzard do the same before becoming suspicious and flying off funniest was a pigeon i let land in the pattern and it started to hump one of the dead bird decoys
deejay
I had a sparrow hawk perch above me in the tree one morning eyeing up my deeks , it flew out of tree and tried to take off with my floater deek . It was pretty funny as it grabbed the floater the bird had such a grip on it the bounce on the rod pulled it back and it landed on the ground . It just sat there looking up at the decoy before attempting to take another from one of my cradles , she give up in the end and flew off .............amazing to watch though .
