Farmer-of-the-Futre
Hey all, I swaped out my .177 air ranger for a new s410 a few month ago and havnt really shot much with it. Recently i have knocked down a few pigeons to find that it really 'opens them up' I guess its just the bigger pellet but ive never known any of our other air rifles (including the .22's) to cause this much damage. I generally go for neck shots and on the second pigeon (see picutres)it was facing away from me if that makes any diffenece. I may have to post the other pictures as a reply as the files are rather large. I can only upload one at once! Here is the second bird and one with the gun:

clakk
some pellets n bulletts too are designed to mushroom on impact the blunt trauma shock is instant,i got sum hollow tipped crossmans do this .maybe your pellets are similar hence big holes hope this makes sense, cheers
Farmer-of-the-Futre
Well done Matt You like your new rifle then mate yes thanks Get on alright with it but i just need some practice to get used to that .22 trajectory! It drops so much more than the .177 some pellets n bulletts too are designed to mushroom on impact the blunt trauma shock is instant,i got sum hollow tipped crossmans do this .maybe your pellets are similar hence big holes hope this makes sense, cheers Thanks mate, ive had some hollow points myself but the gun didnt shoot well with them. I used rws superdome (domed head) pellets with these two shots. They tent to just flatten out on impact but hey. Aslong as it knocks 'em down im not too fussed

M.I.A
I only use aa fields there brilliant, very hard hitting pellet, very soft so the instant they hit there target they just flatten. I wouldn't use any other pellet
M.I.A
Get both the 5.51 and 5.52 pellets and see which works best, the 5.51 group brilliantly but the 5.52 group just a fraction better and I've only lost 4-5fps using the 5.
