Avid 177 fan I am! That is untill a buddy got one of these BSA lightning tacticle in 22!

Watching his sucess and reading folks comments about 22 on here I thought I would give it a go.

It has been a long road though due to poor quality control at BSA these days!

The trigger was creepy and after stoning it several times is now satisfactory.

The action was full of swarf so had to be stripped and cleaned.

The muzzle had no crown and burrs also!

My friend had a few silly issues but between us now have good working rifles.

I love how this gun shoulders.

It shoots most pellets including Falcon, Accu pells, Super domes,Bisley mags and Marksmen pointed! Yep thats right, Marksmen pointed  The last batch of Wasps were very poor so will not go there again!

Here's a photo,

Four rabbits, sold.

Apollogies for the poor quality photo of a freaky guy with a gun!

Good shooting U., don't you find that shooting the air rifles is good practice for the high power as well?

Sure does

Been hunting all winter on fox so actually done little shooting other than wing shooting, my buddy shoots rabbits from my 4x4 while I use a hand held light. My confidence was draining, over 500 pels in a weekend has fixed that :D

Yep I worked that out my self <_<

Any problems getting into it or was it simple and straight forward to undo spring

:)

Not the easiest to take part. I made a tool from some steel tube which has a notch cut in it (with an angle grinder) so it compresses the spring past the large rear pin. The poor plastic spring guide sits in the large pin and the washer so has to clear the pin before it simply falls out. The spring guide likes to stick and stay with the large pin! I have used a scissor jack but a sash cramp is better, one end on the breech block just under the barrel protected with cloth. An assistant is handy.

I made a solid steel guide and washer all in one piece from a large bolt, handy that old lathe at work is

It did not like grease as a lube so I used a little heavy gear oil and now it feels smooth to cock, before it had a rough spot. Next to no lube was in there from the factory.
