RAMMER BURT
hi fella i often go pigeon shooting with out using a hide, its not that iam lazy its just that some of my fields have huge hawthorn bushes in stead of thin hedgerows, but i do ware full head camo including a camo face mask as long as you stand still i dont think its a big problem,i have had some good bags even on OSR using this method also makes it easy and quick to set up and move
Hamster
I go minimalistic quite often , that means just a net almost small enough to stuff into a pocket but the field has to have the right aspect to it as you still need a hedge to bury yourself inside and something to hook the net onto. The greatest problem with this approach though is the weather as it does need to be bearable enough that being a little exposed to the elements won't mean you're frozen solid in an hour. stace1g
its lugging all the gear about that is a lot of the problem (disabled) plus I dont like being hemmed in. The way my pigeon shooting is it is nice to be able to move at fairly short notice which is easier with less gear! Was thinking about one of those Jack Pike LLC suits. Anyone used one of these? Gaz I would say a ghillie suit would be far too restrictive to swing a gun through one of the most agile birds out there. Ok if you want to creep around stalk something that they were designed for! Upping sticks and chasing pigeons around the farm is something I try to avoid. TEH
fenboy
the chances to use a natural hide on the vast majority of occasions is nil large open feilds without hedges or even a tree is the norm , so for me a hide is a must !!
