Hi Guys

Got my SGC Interview tonight and to say I am nervous is an understatement. He is due at 4.30pm. Any ideas what I will be asked? The cabinet is located in my mother in laws house (still live at home). She is a child minder (that worries me) but the cabinet is kept upstairs in me and our lasses bedroom (kids not allowed upstairs).

Will i have a problem with this?

Let me know

A very nervous Longy

Thanks Swiss, I had heard mixed things about SGC but it seems that as long as the cabinet is fitted and you are not a raving loony it shouldnt be a problem.

honestly its nothing to worry about hes more bothered about checking house, alarms , window locks your cabinet is fixed things like that then he we run though your ticket about how to sell guns wat to fill in and stuff like that.

just chill out and dont be nervous best of been a lone i think so he carnt ask wife stuff like wood he shoot you if your cooking was bad or where are his keys ? stuff like that

You will be asked a few questions about yourself, you may have to tell them the safe distance regarding shot fallout with a shotgun (300 yards or so), how to handle a gun (checking it's empty etc). Mainly you should find the FEO to be friendly and helpful, and most of the interview will be spent with them telling you about everything themselves - safety, security, the paperwork etc.

Mostly just sit back and listen, and don't forget to ask any questions you may have.

Your cabinet location should be fine, it's not where people will go (i.e the children) and remember you are the only one allowed a key, so it won't be a problem.

  • 4 weeks later...

Well thought id update this post, it has been 4 weeks since my interview and still no certificate! To say im gutted is an understatement and although I know it will turn up I thought it would be here quicker. I have chased it but got told it may be another 1-2 weeks yet. Getting fed up of ringing home everyday seeing if the post has come.

Sorry for the moan but needed to vent my disappointment. Just hope its here soon, desperate to get out on the clays with my own shotgun.

Pah!

Stop moaning, some of us have waited over 5 months to get certificates, it could be worse!

I know it's a bit frustrating though, but it can be worse!
