Chris Bb
My wife's pal's husband is a plasterer. Judging by the number of foreign holidays they take each year I can only surmise that he's charging too much. Obviously not the same for all but his work keeps on coming in. escortmagnum999
As with any tradesman/woman 'you pay peanuts, you get monkeys'............. If something sounds too cheap it generally is. Day rates around me at the minute are 120-160 quid a day, but get a meterage price aswell. As said before, plasterers have a habit of going home mid afternoon! Fisherman Mike
Thats about 76M2 or 26 boards. 12.7 boarding your looking at about £646+ vat Fill and tape joints and 3mm board finish plaster about £570 +vat The whole lot £1200 would be a fair price assuming theres no rip out and the ceilings are overboarded and theres no coving or cornices to worry about. As another poster said pre 90,s artex was full of Asbestos... be very careful if your taking old artexed ceilings out. If in doubt seal them with pva and overboard them. Surely he's charging the right amount. If he was charging too much he wouldn't get any work and too cheap and he couldn't afford the holidays. evo
My god :o £60 a day, havent seen them prices since the 80s Just finished plastering 2 houses amongst other works, all priced work to overskim walls and ceilings,a ceiling alone would be at least £130 inc plaster and a wall about £60 again inc plaster. totally agree ,,,,, it all depends on size of ceiling or wall but £130 for a ceiling is a great price ,,and i,m a nvq assessor in general construction and a fully time served plasterer,, £40 or £60 a day ,,defo done by someone on the dole and not paying his taxes,, or could that price have been given by a polish guy by any chance :hmm: they will do anything for less than minimum wage thats why all the tradesmen work in factory,s and all the cowboys are in the building game,,no wonder new houses are falling to bits after 12 months,,,,,,,   ok i,m ready for the onslaught now
