I was asking the same question over a year ago and took the advice passed on to me, which was to opt for a Beretta Xtrema. Haven't regretted it once. Fantastic bit of kit and I would 100% recommend one. Have had no problems with it, even with very light loads.

I went for the version 1 and got a version 2 for a friend (both second hand) and both have been a delight to own and use. Hold their value well too.

Snipe.

all the above guns are 12 gauge and i was wondering are all of the above 31/2 chamber and are they steel proof.

p.s. yes, the Xtrema is certainly 3.5" and steel proof.

Used all 3 of those,(the beretta and browning a lot).

Basically you won't go wrong with any of them! The xtrema2 is the only one if found that will cycle anything,(cartridge length being the issue with the other two). The beretta is the heaviest by far,(but swings once you've got it going). Personally wouldn't get longer than a 28inch barrel or it's quite a lengthy thing to use in a hide!

I use the maxus but in truth the Winchester has a better weight to it. May change at some point. However the maxus is v easy to load+unload.

Sorry for the poor structure of my reply. It's too much faff to edit it on my phone.

Ps xtrema is hard to beat :good:
