magoo the noo
Hi all, a mate of mine had a look at a 2nd hand over & under yesterday. It was very tight to break & even tighter to close. The lad selling it said you have to force it together when you put cartridges in it.? I'm thinking maybe wrong stock or barrel's. Any idea's Regards James
Gordon R
Either very little used, no lubrication or something mechanically wrong with the gun. If in doubt - get a professional opinion.

BRAD1927
try some white gun grease on the mating surfaces if that dont work give it to a gunsmith
bedwards1966
It should be tight if it's little used but workable. If it needs forcing open or closed, or needs slamming in any way then there is a problem with it. Walk away, unless you have a reason to be very interested in that particular gun in which case get somebody with the right experience (i.e. gunsmith) to take a look before you buy it. It might be nothing or it might be something very major.
Harvey1972
Possibly been squeezed in a vice to hide a loose action or headache.
Sx3 clay breaker
I had a parrazzi that was as tight as anything is it new
HDAV
What gun? It may have been put back on the face a bit too much. Some are tight as new, my 525 is still quite tight but it closes smoothly with no forcing, some guns just flop open when you touch the top lever
magoo the noo
The gun is a Marrochi (not sure of the spelling). I think its best left alone. Harvey you might be right about it been squashed in a vice. Regards James
