Muggins.
I have a chunky silver chain which i`m considering selling on. Thing is i haven`t a clue as to its value. Is there anyone on here "in the know?" It`s 57 cms long, 1 cm wide and .5 cm thick.
shaun4860
It will be sold on scrap value (weight) find out the price of silver, weigh it and prepare to haggle like your life depended on it
Thunderbird
Silver price is high at the moment and many private dealers don't look to make more than 10% for a quick deal.

four-wheel-drive
First of all is it hall marked as foreign silver tends not to be so pure as hall marked stuff in the uk so you will not get so much for it having said that with the way that the banks are re euro I would hang on to any silver and gold that you have. smig4373
That doesnt look like it weighs 6oz.... Also...precious metals are weighed in Troy ounces...which is 31.1grams per ounce.. :good: .925 silver is worth between £13 and £15 per troy ounce depending on where you go... :good: Edited May 18, 2012 by smig4373

four-wheel-drive
I was going to get some silver dollars (eagles) some time ago I did get two in the end one ounce silver eagles cost about £55 but it peed me off big time having to pay 20% vat on them when if I had lots of money I could have got gold ones and pay no vat but they was about £1000 each and I have not got that sort of money going spare. Have a look at this place. http://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/gold-price-charts/
