kent
much of the training is similar to gundog work, there should be lots of books in your local library. There is some total rubbish about training running dogs and lurchers about now, retrieving, recall and other obidience training is done the same for all dogs (just start the retrieving bit earlier than many recomend with a gundog and make it a totally over the top game). Steadyness and to ferrets and other livestock should also be done early and very well, idealy every day contact with ferrets if they are to work together well. Remember train for the job in hand and complete it well before you start it on the real thing as they only get harder to handle if you do it the wrong way around

Dave66
If you are using it for Ferreting get it used to being around them, for just a moment I thought she was going to retrieve one ! (second photo, a bit blurred), then back to normal. Edited May 29, 2012 by Dave66
washerboy
Give them an inch and they Take à mile..is my motto regarding whippets.have the recoil 100% on a walk about before you consider going hunting.good luck and keep us updated
