CZ550Kevlar
i have a pc at the moment which does the job and is pretty fast but has reached the point that the new games coming out like battlefield 3 etc will run but not on kick *** settings, i have an off the shelf system which i will pass to my wife as hers and years ago i would have built my own system but i just don`t have the time etc anymore, that being the case anyone know of anywhere to get a good spec gaming machine from that don`t rip people off or a custom build place that has a good rep and reasonable pricing., it also needs to be abit future proof. philm
Try here: http://www.scan.co.uk/ Probably cheaper to still build your own.
CZ550Kevlar
Try here: http://www.scan.co.uk/ Probably cheaper to still build your own. This is what i`m thinking, also as i have a working computer i don`t have to rush it, it can`t be any harder than it used to be as i`m sure nowadays the motherboards must be pretty much self configuring? EDIT: the other big question is what spec should i be after as a minimum. Edited May 26, 2012 by CZ550Kevlar

pimpkiller
Ive just put together a cheap PC with parts from ebuyer Its not nearly as hard as it used to be, just follow the motherboard manual and you cant go wrong, you dont realy need to mess about in the CMOS setup or any of that stuff these days they sort themselves out mainly. I just stuck some parts into my old Acer desktop, motherboard, 8G memory, corsair PSU, AMD 3 core 4.5 chip, proper CPU heatsink/fan and a ATI radeon 5770 off ebay for £60. I can play battlefield3 in top detail, it was easier than i thought. I used to find a company called "palicomp" good on ebay, its actually a proper shop in newcastle-under-lyme nothing dodgy, you can pick up some very good PCs on auction. CZ550Kevlar
I find themquite good. I am about to built another system through them. i think what i may do is find a high spec pc for about the £1000 mark then copy the spec and build it myself, i recon i could save a couple of hundred pounds possibly. leeds chimp
My first gaming PC cost me just shy of £1000 that was a few years ago...the spec I have now after I had another one built was just short of £400...in the shops the same spec was £800-
