Nick322
Hey all, This year, I want to visit the CLA Game Fair. In the meantime, I want to shoot some tough clay targets on some nice shooting grounds. Can anyone make some suggestions which grounds I definitely have to visit? Thanks in advance, Nico (from Belgium)

HDAV
How far from the CLA are you prepared to travel? Driving over? Ferry into? Or flying?
Nick322
How far from the CLA are you prepared to travel? Driving over? Ferry into? Or flying? I will drive from Dover to Leicestershire. If it is somewhere in between, it should be OK normally.

HDAV
From Dover you can pass Bisley (going round the west of the M25) which might worth a stop off there (Sporting layout and NCSC) are also the "london grounds" Holland & Holland, http://www.hollandandholland.com/thegrounds.php Royal Berkshire http://www.rbss.co.uk/royal_private.asp West London http://www.shootingschool.co.uk/ All offer some nice targets and wallet emptying prices.... On your way you will pass close by many others including http://www.wkss.demon.co.uk/ on your way out or into dover. If you head up up the M40, There is barby sporting in rugby open wednesday and saturday details here http://www.rugbytown.co.uk/Sport-and-Leisure/Shooting/Barby-Sporting-l463.html Kibworth is near Leicester http://www.kibworthshootingground.co.uk/ and kegworth near derby http://www.kegworthclayshoot.co.uk/ Edited May 30, 2012 by HDAV
VicW
The nearest shooting ground to the Game Fair at Belvoir is Orston which is just across the A52,west of the village of Bottesford. It is an excellent ground with plenty of facilities. It will be open on the Wednesday before the Game Fair and on the Saturday and Sunday. http://www.orston.com/ Vic. SakoQuad
You'd have to come west en-route but if you can then Ian Coley's in Gloucestershire is a good ground with some testing stands amongst the 18? they now have. Just won Best Shooting Ground award. Bit of a detour but good motorway links in all directions!
DaveM
If you drive through Suffolk you should visit John Bidwell's clay ground 'High Lodge' http://www.highlodge.co.uk/s6/Clay-####-in-Suffolk.html Great skeet, down the line and sporting...
