turbo33
Depends on what you mean by best. What power output do you want? Calibre? I did a lot of research recently as I was in the market for one. Had a look at them all. Eventually decided that daystates even though they are gorgeous, were hideously expensive. Air Arms extra is nice but 30 shots unregulated is to short a sweet spot.Theoben do a few and of all the FAC air rifles, they seem to completely outstrip all the others on popularity. Some of the 25-30ft/lb ones are regulated. I settled for a second hand mint theoben rapid mk2 in .22, fast flow, not regulated. It was factory set at 40lbs, which gave only 24 shots before dropping off. I have adjusted it and its now doing 35ft/lbs for 48 shots before starting to drop. Its accuracy is phenominal :o Zero'd at 40 yards its flat out to that with 1/2" hold under at 30yards to 1" holdover at 60 yards. It still has 23lbs of energy at that range so masses of power still. My advice would be: .22, stay under 35 ft/lbs, 30ft/lbs would be better for higher shot count and consistancy, long barrels are for big power so less power, shorter barrel, regulated if possible, dont believe the quoted shot count unless you see a chrono'd string and if second hand, try and get one that hasn't been "tinkered" with. Hope this helps. Good luck
NIGHT SEARCHER
BSA Super 10 very very accurate 30 ftlb and 400cc bottle giving close to 100 full power shots. And its Regulated has standard. And you don`t have to pay stupid money for one. Very good backup for parts and service after thousands of shots i did have a power problem. I phoned them they said it will be the regulator. 15 min to take the reg out. I sent it on a Monday it was back Friday with new seals and serviced and the gun as been fine ever since. Ho the bill £32. **** hot. Happy Days. Happy

mick miller
I've got a rapid in .22, running at 30 fpe. I had it converted to fac by Ben at Milbro. From a 280cc bottle at 230 bar I get 80, yes 80 shots before the power drops below 30fpe, then there is another 5 shots before it dips below 29. With a 400cc bottle expect well in excess of 100 shots. Theobens fast flow is cack. Edited June 10, 2012 by mick miller

I would also have a play on chairgun to also help you work out what trajectory/drop/distance is acceptable. You will have to register first before viewing, but a lot of helpful advice and info on the site http://www.rapid7ownersclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2406 Edited June 10, 2012 by turbo33
