ging125
Do Roe deer come into or pass through fields with livestock in them? Or do they plain avoid it? Cheers
southdowns_stalking
I have several permissions that have livestock on them, one is a sheep farm and i often see Roe passing through but i would say there prefer the empty fields. I think the smell from the sheep puts them off. Another has a beef herd and again i have seem them in the same fields. Hope this helps
al4x
Generally roe seem to avoid fields with sheep but I guess a fair bit comes down to available food and feeding areas. On a side note reminded me of this picture I'd got, an orphan I believe that joined a flock of sheep Edited June 11, 2012 by al4x

To answer the original question - I have seen for pass through fields with livestock but never stoping in them for long - they prefer a clean field. scolopax
Roe seem to generally detest sheep. On my stalking ground when the sheep are off the hill for lambing the Roe come onto the hill, as soon as the sheep return the deer go back into the forestry and stay there. They will of course transit across sheep ground but will not use it for feeding. So in effect the sheep make my stalking much more difficult, therefore I like Roe, detest sheep. Mereside, shoot that Roe, it is obviously suffering from some form of mental instability
