I know there's a few Sea Anglers on here,

So Im hoping someone can answer a few questions for me please.

Whats the difference in inshore and offshore, (when does in shore become offshore)

What does Knots(?sp) equate to in MPH ?

Typically how many miles out to sea for say COD(amongst other species) Mackerel

What size of boat is a minimum ? (Typically 16'-18' seems popular)

That's all I can think of for now  taaa

A friend of mine used to have a small 14 foot forward cuddy we used to go 3 mile out in. Mackrell are pretty much everywhere even 1/2 a mile out as can the Cod be depending on the topography of the sea bed. Deeper waters tend to improve the size of your fish but I have never fished further than 6 mile out.

offshore is 12nm from memory

1 Knot is roughly 1.15MPH

Hard to say how far to go out for certain species...You can get most from a beach/rock mark depending where you are in the UK...from Norfolk last year in the winter had cod, dabs, whiting and flounders and now the summer is here bass and makkie have moved in so will be hitting the beach again next week
