Big Al
Hi I am using open sights on my antiquated Anschutz 335 .22 air rifle at the moment with reasonable patterns on paper targets. I want to improve this by getting a spring rated scope. Is the Nikko Stirling Mountmaster ao range springer rated? I dont feel I can get an honest or reliable answer from my local RFDs. Thanks. NIGHT SEARCHER
I had an HW 80 30 years ago that had an ox spring in it and was doing 22 ftlb but it kicked like a mule. I was forever having to re-tighten the stock screws. It had a 4x40 Nikko Stirling mountmaster on it and it never give me any probs. My son has a 3x9x40 Nikko Stirling mountmaster on a BSA Superstar that i give him thats doing 11.7 ftlb. Its got and ox spring in it and recoils a bit but the scope has been fine. There cheap and cheerful and do the job well and usually come with mounts. Have a look at J.S.Ramsbottoms web site there about the cheapest for most things. Big Al
Thanks. Will buy one now. Open sights are fun but as I hope to tackle live quarry now I have to try to more consistently accurate. Hence the scope. Many thanks again.

demonwolf444
i bought one for my XS78 and a month later bought another for my BSA mercury w/ OX spring, fair amount of vibration and recoil from it and it holds up well the Nikko's also come with really good quality mounts included, with a stop screw so you can lock everything down tight, mine give me no problems
