Made from light weight box section, folds up to go in car boot. I need to put some foam on the seat to make it a bit more comfy, I'm going to use it for zeroing the rifle and to take it rabbit shooting where i can sit in the hedge and wait.

It would be better If you could make the top section height adjustable

If you`re thinking of selling them that Is ;)

It is height adjustable, there's a thumb screw on the right hand side to lock it in the right height, it's hard to see it in the pics.

I recently saw something like this in Winfields Outdoor Stores and would have got one if they had not been so expensive! I forget who they were made by but they were damned expencive for what they were at well over 100 pounds. The ones I saw were adjustable and had a back rest. If you were to start making them I am sure that you would sell lots of them if you kept the price reasonable. I personally could see them really coming into their own for when you are sitting in a pigeon hide for long periods!

looking at manufacturing costs of such a sub £100 selling price would be difficult to achieve and make any profit. Steel, labour, paint etc. then transport and 20% VAT. IMO the last of those things is actually stalling the economy now! Though its a double edged sowd for those in power today and trying to sort the mess they inherited. Ontop of all that when you add plant, consumables liability and product insurance, retailers profit and marketing costs.............

Is it suprising that the exploited nations are manufacturing so much of our gear these days. our future can only be high end manufacturing and inovation

I doagree with your sentiments however someone on here could surely achieve considerably less than that to sell to mates and members ?

Or even sell half finished ones that need painting seat foam etc. ?

i was looking for a shooting seat/rest my self and could fined nothing out there. i am a metal fabricator of some 38 years and have lost count of the 1 offs i have made for my self and many others.so it was great to fined a member that had come up with such a item that i was looking for .i read that he was looking at padding the seat,a cycle seat might be an option, iknow it would mean more work to mount it but boy would it be comfy.looking at the angle of the legs when open i wonder weather a wire trace linking all the legs together would help take the strain off the pivot bolt and stop the legs splaying out.please dont think i am dising your seat i think it a great idea. you were bang on on what you said about how much it would cost to make them in numbers, just beacause it looks simple does not mean you can make it in an hour, joe puplic has no idea just what is involved too get a product up and running.keep up the good work.
