Topgunners
Friday morning I woke up with a sore throat and thought nowt of it. I had arranged to go fishing early on the saturday for a change as alan had to work first. So off to the tackle for the bait etc. By 5.00pm I just couldn't swallow my spit without severe pain. Just never realised how many times a person swallows in a day. By 8 o'clock I couldn't hardly talk and so I shot off to A&E. OWWWW. 4 hour wait for assessment. Finally sees the quack and he immediately refers me to the e.n.t specialist who shoves his camera up my nostrils to have a look. I was informed that I had a severely enlarged Uvula. The uvula is the dangly bit at the back of the throat. They administered morphine, steroids and god knows what and said they wanted to admit me because it could block my air passage . I politely refused because I had my dog in the carpark and had things to do over the weekend. lol. Saturday I went back home with a shedful of pills and got ready to go shooting. 2 hours kip and I drive to the farm and set up opposite a huge blowhole in the wheat. By 11.30 I had shot 44 and my mates arrived and took over and I then went and met up with my mate's lad and went to the river (against other advice about floods, you're mental etc.)We had a cracking peaceful afternoon for a change and caught roach and chub and packed up at 9.30pm. My other mates had shot another 73 for a total of 117. GOD, I LOVE THAT TREE.WOULD LOVE IT IN MY GARDEN. Sunday 3 of us were out today and went to another farm with blowholes in the wheat. We sat and watched and my self and paul set up for the crows and Al went further up the farm and set up for pigeons. We had 48 and Alan had 57 for a total 105. Good weekend in the end and my throat is getting alot better even though I am rattling a bit. pigeon controller
Good bags from the wheat, not seen much our way yet. Cranfield
I hope your throat clears up quickly, that sounds most unpleasant and a bit frightening. There are a few birds on the wheat in my area, but most of the activity is on the barley and peas. That does look a nice bit of river.
