Gav912
Our barley is probably two weeks away from being ready, there is some locally that is less than a week away from being fit. Looking 3 to 4 weeks before we touch the rape though, its not even been sprayed off yet.

'A couple of days of sun' may be enough to ripen the earliest barley but in my area (the Cotswolds) it will take a more prolonged dry spell to dry up the ground sufficiently for harvesters to get on. I shot over laid barley yesterday and there was 2" of water in the tram lines.

Harnser . If we didn't have Maris Otter this year ours would be as well with it all being on the lighter fields this year. Need the straw to be 100% fit as well thugh as its as important to us as the grain
