hi I'm looking at getting one of these on an 06 / 07 plate, there seems to be a lot on the market but with extremely high 100k plus. i was hoping to spend 12 to 13k on one with about 60 to 80k on the clock.

Anyone own one that could give me any advice on what to look out for or should i keep clear of them cheers.

As mentioned the electric handbrake is a weak point, as is the rear door latch (but this one is a relatively cheap fix) I never use the handbrake so not had a problem with that. Only other issue we have had is some wacky electrical problems due to a mouse eating the loom. Find a good independent specialist to look after it and you will halve the bills from a dealer. Careful driving will get you 28-30MPG on an auto TDV6 but if you are heavy footed more like 22-24. Reluctantly selling our 55 plate SE at the moment, at 140K miles it's not worth much more than £8-£9K private sale and £7K trade in but if we get £9K I have only lost a grand a year over the 4 years we have had it.

Talking to the dealers on trade-ins they don't offer much more for an HSE over an SE, little difference in spec, so don't pay over the odds just to get the HSE. .

If it were up to me we would be getting another but she wanted an Evoque Wagmobile and deserves to get what she wants, so that is that... :D

Yup, love mine , it's now at 89k so I'll have the cam belts to do shortly, 2 of them at the front and back of the engine!

It has cost a few quid here and there but it handles like a car, pulls like a train and can offroad with the best of them.

It fits 7 adults, you can use it to move house and they are very well kitted out.

An SE can end up higher spec'd than an HSE but the HSE adds a few things like rear AC and audio controls, adaptive headlights (where the fog light turns on in the direction you turn) and usually have the offroad sat nav program.

Mine was fairly well spac'd when new with xenons, leather, sat nav, harman kardon stereo, elec seats etc - although I have seen bare bones spec'd ones.

They munch wheel bearings and suspension arms (mostly the oil filled bushes) but that's understandable for such a heavy car that handles so well.

Took myself and four friends to newcastle recently in comfort and it is a very easy drive in a disco.

I'm still torn between whether the auto or manual is better - a friend had the auto and I have the manual - both have pro's and cons...although I would say I'd try an auto if I buy another but I've spent a few quid fixing things on mine so will keep it now I know what I have.

Regards,

Gixer
