Gordon R
I would appreciate some advice. I bought a Beretta 682 today, with the intention of fitting an adjustable comb. That job is nearly done, but I decided to re-finish the woodwork. The varnish finish came off easily with one dose of Nitromors. However, the forend and stock are different shades of wood. The forend is quite a bit darker than the stock. Anyone have any ideas how to lighten the forend? Is it just a case of more Nitromors, or what? guss109
Think you will have a job lightening the wood as it will be soaked into the grain but search google and you might find some tips on bleaching it
fenboy
It would be easier to make the stock darker to match the fore end I would guess.

Azzurri
Hi Gordon I'd make the stock darker using Van Dyke Crystals. I've used them in the past and by adding more or less to the mix you can usually get a pretty good colour match. Azzurri
Gordon R
Thanks for the advice lads - better result. I bleached the forend, which brought it back to what it should look like. Decent bit of wood underneath. I will now get a darker stain for the stock - couple of coats - with a light coat on the forend. Just waiting for the epoxy to set and the adjustable comb should be done - bar a couple of allen screw holes needing tapping.
