MC
Does anyone on here make much wine? I seem to have an abundance of fruit hanging of off trees everywhere I go and with to much to make jam or fruit pies I thought I would make some wine. A google search is OK but has anyone got a tried and tested recipe. At the moment I seem to have lots of blackberries, elderberries and plums. Mungler
Martin, I do beer, but not very well - last lot had horrible yeast bite (drinkable, but each gulp made you wince). Just done some plum onion chutney today, and have about a skip load of victoria plums spare if you want any. Hit the sloe gin last night - very good and I can still see today. I used it to take the edge of some cheap champers. I got all my gear off "JPHomebrew@aol.com" they have an ebay shop and are extremely nice and helpful. Also sell wine making recipe books the last time I looked.

Dave66
I am trying to Homebrew Cider for the first time, a swing bin full of apples has made about a gallon in the demi-jon so far. Looks a horrible colour though.
pavman
mart I used to make a lot but with 3 bottles for a tenner now its not worth it, a friend of mine used to put fruit in some sort of pot and add a little vodka form time to time it used to mash down into one hell of a brew, cant remember how to do it, sorry pavman
MC
Pavman, It's not really about the cost, I don't drink wine much anyway. It is more about doing something with all this free fruit that is about at the moment. Cheers Martin
