Blackstone
Let's say I've just been authorised for a .22 rifle, do I need to buy a gun and fill that slot within a certain timeframe, or is it "as soon as possible"? I'll add that this is in Northern Ireland, if it makes a difference Edited August 21, 2012 by AngryHan

I've never known this to be a problem with anyone I know.
bedwards1966
Fill it before you renew your application, as that's when they review it and will say that you don't have 'good reason' for it if you haven't bought one in that time it's not needed. That's assuming it's no different where you are, though I can't see that it would be. Edited August 21, 2012 by bedwards1966

Brisa
As far as I am aware you can't have 'slots' set aside like the mainland. I have had to fill in a variation with a serial no of the rifle being put onto the cert. Call your local FEO
Blackstone
I thought that too, but I have been told that you can just leave that blank.

I'm sure now that I've read that to get a FAC you have to have first purchased the firearm, and have it stored (i.e at a RFD) so you can apply. Calling your FEO might be wise, unless someone on here can say for certain if that is the case.
