TomSteebs
nearly 100% sure i'll be ordering one of these this week. so looking to get a scope 2nd hand, could you give me any models which you have on it or know that would likely fit atb tom 10x44 viper? chrisjpainter
It depends what you're going to be using it for? 10X44 wouldn't be my first choice for a springer hunter, as I'd want the versatility of a range of mag. The MTC range is great, but they're big scopes and added to the wait of a springer, it might be a bit of a weight to lug around. have a look at the Hawke range; their smaller scopes are pretty darn good and they're well kitted out for the price! If I was in your position I'd look at the Mamba Lite from MTC. It's lighter than the Viper and designed for hunting rather than target work. Perhaps the Hawke Airmax or Varmint? jamiedenny
mamba lite is cracking Also still love the Hawke range for value for money.
TomSteebs
thanks both, i've had hawkes, nikko's, tasco's, mtc's etc... so i know what im getting into with the scope, i was thinking of maybe a nikko stirling euro hunter..... i had a hawke panorama and for some reason- couldn't get on with it, but i may give them another chance i'm more thinking of length really, or does the hw98 cope with long scopes. by the way chris j painter; i think i experienced the pain of weight- i had a hw97 thumbhole, with a mtc viper on and a sak silencer with a sling to top it off. oh and a trigger shoe

In that case you're gonna know what it's like to hulk around the equivalent of a dead horse on your back! The sort of gun that makes you think maybe a wheeled golf bag might make a good edition to hunting kit... Nice weapon though; I'm idly thinking about getting one, but it'd be the 97KT Synth though, so we shall see!
TomSteebs
they are a quality gun, very accurate indeed, i just found the breech too annoying for hunting the weight wasn't that bad because i was pretty damn fit when i had it. i may have a look at the hawkes and nikko's with maybe a chance of the new nikon ao
Catweazle
You're looking for a short scope, with useable magnification, well built to withstand springer recoil, and not too heavy. The solution I chose for my TX200 was a Bushnell Elite 3200 4-12x40 . It's a good scope, well suited to hunting.
moorvale55
I have a Hawke Sport HD IR on my HW80k, the product code is HK3017. It has adjustable objective lens, illuminated milldot reticle in red or green and each colour at 5 levels of brightness and it's a 3-9X50. I'm really pleased with it. The average price on the web is £110 but I got mine for £75 at Leek Shooting Supplies. It's designed for use on a springer but needs an arrestor pin on the scope mounts. I only use the rifle for hunting rabbits and this scope is crystal clear.
Full Pelt
Like Catweazle I use a Bushnell, they make a couple of rifle scopes for spring air rifles, you could try the Bushnell Banner 4x12x40. Best I've seen recently is £112.00 at Opticswarehouse.
