Ferret Master
Hi, When they are fully grown adults is the answer. Small young ferrets could get knocked around by a big buck rabbit lashing out. FM

Bigbob
Ferrets are like kids they all mature at differnt times. So it no use saying they will all be going like trains when there six months old ,There your ferrets m8 you will know them and as soon as you think there big and mature enough give them a try with your jill .But you better to error on the side of cation than fire them in to early
Cranfield
It depends on the physical size and condition of the individual ferrets. I would start a good , strong ferret at about 6 months, making sure not to tire them out by giving them too much to do. Lighter ferrets, especially jills, I would leave for a further month, or three. I have a friend that waits until they are about 1 year old, before working them. Its very difficult to be specific, it does tend to be something you learn by experience. Eventually, you will just know when they are ready. Don't let your impatience ruin your ferrets.
