Apparently the Grey is not responsible for the demise of the Red, MAN is...... a good few years ago we shot them all. After that the UK had to import 1000's of Reds from Finland IIRC to replace the ones shot. The debate on Jonathan Miles was about culling, & as usual no representation from the shooting end. Most red squirrels were reintroduced from other parts of Britain actually. Only a small number came from Scandinavia.
