how long out there

Well your not going to sit there all day without a shot, if I have had a decent day and it goes quiet for half hour at about 4 then its time to pack up, however if I am getting a bird every half an hour, is it worth it?? Only you can make your mind up on how long you can sit there. Its all about being out in my opinion. I always keep my .22 in my truck, so if its quiet ill ping a few bunnies or take one of my centrefires out and do some practice. But you might not have this luxury.

Personally I get bored quickly, so if I have not had a shot withing 45 minutes I will start to pack up.

approx 18 hrs on the pigeon from 4 am to 10pm (that includes approx 1.5 to 2 hrs travell depending on where I go), but I take a throw away bbq etc and make the day of it, When it gets quiet I just have a wander round the woodlands on my permission and sit around various vantage points waiting for quarry, but I always take the 22 rf when decoying so I can have a wander do a bit of plinking etc. It,s nice to take time out and get the things in your head straight ie family, work etc .It chills me right out having a day in the feild, you never need to be bored in the countryside mate ,, enjoy it !!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the time I am out with friends, so we chat about different things. If I am out by myself I just admire the landscape and think about how I could improve the pattern.

If I was getting a steady stream of birds I would stay out most of the day and I am quite patient when it comes to decoying.
